Democrats fail us on Keystone XL Pipeline bill
A few days ago 10 Democrats put our drinking water at risk with their vote on an amendment to the Keystone XL bill. Today we saw the staunch division in the Senate between the real Progressive Democrats and Blue Dog Democrats. The Keystone XL pipeline bill passed the Senate with their help. Sadly this was not a surprise.
The bill received assistance from nine Democrats. The Democrats that voted for the bill are Michael Bennet (D-CO), Tom Carper (D-DE.) Bob Casey (D-PA); Joe Donnelly (D-IN); Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), Joe Manchin (D-WV); Claire McCaskill (D-MO); Jon Tester (D-MT.), and Mark Warner (D-VA).
President Obama has promised to veto the bill if it gets to his desk. He will likely get the opportunity to stick to his word sooner rather than later.
